6. 1980-81

At the tender age of 21, for the first and only time prior to his HIV diagnosis, Johnson did not play in the All-Star Game. It wasn't because of his game, though.

Magic still averaged 21.6 points, along with 8.6 assists and 3.4 steals per contest, but he played in just 37 games due to injury. For the percentage of games that Johnson was active, he was the same big-time player.

In limited action, he racked up 6.4 win shares at a rate of .225 win shares per 48 minutes. He owned a box plus-minus of 9.2 with a PER of 25.7, the fourth-highest of his career. If not for his time spent off the floor, he would've been an All-Star and the Lakers probably would've gone much further than the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
