Daily Fantasy Basketball Game Scripts to Target on 3/1/17
Blake Griffin, PF, Los Angeles Clippers
FanDuel Price: $10,000
The return of Chris Paul certainly hasn't had any ill effects on Blake Griffin's fantasy outlook, as the big man has averaged 36 points and 56.4 FanDuel points in two games since being reunited with his point guard, one of which was an overtime game.
Griffin and Paul will lead the Los Angeles Clippers into battle tonight against the Houston Rockets in the game with the highest over/under (232 points) by a wide margin. The Clippers are 1.5-point home favorites and their slate-high 116.75-point implied team total is nearly nine points higher than their season scoring average.
Los Angeles has only played in a handful of games with an over/under above 215 during the past two seasons, but there have been 20 instances where they've played with one above 210. In those games, Griffin has averaged 40.8 FanDuel points, as opposed to 38.4 in the 44 others during that span. Considering his 30.8% usage rate in the 14 games since returning, it would be surprising if he wasn't a big part of Los Angeles reaching their inflated implied team total.
In addition to a beautiful game script, Griffin draws a terrific matchup against the Rockets, who have allowed the fifth-most FanDuel points per game to opposing power forwards. While Houston can bother Paul with the pesky defense of Patrick Beverley, they have no one who has a chance of slowing Griffin down -- their best bet probably being the undersized Trevor Ariza.
Griffin should feast in this up-tempo, high-scoring affair and is an excellent target in all formats.
