3 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Basketball Plays for 3/14/17
Enes Kanter, PF, Oklahoma City Thunder
FanDuel Price: $5,600
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Despite a juicy matchup with the Brooklyn Nets, Enes Kanter is likely to see low ownership. For starters, the big fella has played under 20 minutes in three of his past four games, which will be enough to scare some off with other power forwards in good spots.
At the top end, Anthony Davis, Draymond Green, and Dario Saric are all in terrific matchups -- particularly Davis and Saric. Just below them is Kristaps Porzingis, who has played quite well recently and is priced conservatively considering his plus-matchup against the Indiana Pacers.
Why You Should Use Him:
Even in limited playing time, Kanter has been extremely effective recently. He has a double-double in three of his past six games and has topped 25 FanDuel points in five of his past eight. With Steven Adams struggling right now, Kanter is clearly the best performing Oklahoma City Thunder big, and it seems only a matter of time until he starts seeing more burn.
Those minutes may come tonight, but even if they don't, Kanter should have no trouble putting up a big line against the hapless defense of the Nets. Brooklyn ranks 28th in rebounding rate and defensive efficiency, along with allowing the second-most FanDuel points to opposing power forwards and fourth-most to centers.
Kanter has posted duds in similar spots recently, with performances of 16.9 and 17.5 FanDuel points against the Portland Trail Blazers and Phoenix Suns. However, his unique upside at this price makes him worth a look in tournaments. Just hope that head coach Billy Donovan doesn't put a cap on that upside by limiting his court time.
