3 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Basketball Plays for 3/21/17
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, SG, Detroit Pistons
FanDuel Price: $4,700
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Over the past few weeks, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope's output has been erratic.
In his last 10 games, the Detroit Pistons' two-guard has had 7 games with fewer than 18 FanDuel points. For that reason alone, many will look elsewhere, no matter the price tag. There are plenty of enticing options at shooting guard on Tuesday with DeMar DeRozan, Klay Thompson, and Seth Curry all likely to attract a higher ownership rate.
Why You Should Use Him:
While KCP has been hard to trust on a consistent basis, he tends to go off in the right matchup. Since the All-Star break, he has had six 20-plus fantasy point nights, including four with 30 or more.
In his last game out against the woeful Phoenix Suns, Caldwell-Pope registered 37.6 fantasy points thanks to going 5-for-9 from three for 23 points with 3 rebounds and 8 assists. His matchup on Tuesday could not get much better, either.
The Brooklyn Nets give up a ton of fantasy points to shooting guards, the most in the NBA, thanks to their soft defense. They allow 113.9 points per game overall, which is also the worst mark in the league. Playing at a fast pace allows opponents to take more shots than any other team allows per game (90.7). Opposing teams are making baskets at a high rate, too, especially from three -- 37.1% fifth-highest in the Association.
The only other time Caldwell-Pope played the Nets this season, he scored 15 points, with 7 rebounds and 2 assists for 31.4 fantasy points despite shooting just 28.6% from the field.
