3 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Basketball Plays for 4/10/17
Brook Lopez, C, Brooklyn Nets
FanDuel Price: $6,600
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Brook Lopez has struggled mightily over the past week, averaging a measly 20.5 FanDuel points over his past three games. With a slate full of appealing center options, most daily fantasy players won't feel the need to take a risk on Lopez -- especially in a game with a double-digit spread.
Why You Should Use Him:
Three bad games were all it took to drop Lopez's price tag to the cheapest it has been all season. While he has disappointed recently, it isn't as if this is an extended slump of some sort. In the four games prior to his three-game skid, Lopez averaged 42.8 FanDuel points.
If Lopez is going to get back on track, tonight's matchup against the Boston Celtics is as good as any. Boston has allowed the 9th-most FanDuel points to opposing centers this season and ranks 27th in rebounding rate. They also have allowed the sixth-highest effective field goal percentage to opposing bigs in the pick and roll this season, an area Lopez has thrived. Only six posts have scored more points out of the pick and roll than Lopez this season.
Lopez's recent ineffectiveness and the potential for this game to turn into a blowout make him tough to trust in anything other tournament formats. He has huge upside at this price tag though, which is evidenced by our Floor/Ceiling tool, which projects him to have the best ceiling value rating among centers priced above $5,000. He is a terrific tournament pivot off of the chalkier options at center.
