5. LeBron James, 2009

Win Shares: 4.83

Where Jordan leaves off, James picks up.

In the fourth season of his first stint with Cleveland, James produced a career-high 35.3 points with 9.1 rebounds and 7.3 assists in 14 playoff games. His PER of 37.4 is, by far, the best of his playoff career and was instrumental in his career-best .399 win shares per 48.

All 4.83 of LeBron's win shares just weren't enough to make it beyond the Eastern Conference Finals, where the Magic ousted the Cavs in six games. But if we could give out an award for the best performance in the playoffs, that would've gone to the 24-year-old James.
