3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 5/1/17
Tony Parker, PG, San Antonio Spurs
FanDuel Price: $5,000
Projected FanDuel Points: 18.9
Projected FanDuel Value: 3.78
The San Antonio Spurs were able to close out the Memphis Grizzlies in six games in the first round, thanks in large part to a throwback performance from Tony Parker, who turned back the clock and averaged 31.4 FanDuel points over the final three games of the series while topping 30 minutes in each.
Unlike the round one matchup against the Grizz, the Spurs find themselves in an uptempo matchup against the high-octane offense of the Houston Rockets tonight. Vegas has them scoring more points (109.75) than any other team tonight, and the over/under in this game (214 points) is the highest as well. They are the only team expected to outscore their season scoring average.
While Patrick Beverley is a pesky defender, this matchup was definitely not one to avoid this season, as Houston's uptempo pace of play led to opposing point guards averaging the sixth-most FanDuel points in the league -- more than any team on this slate.
Parker checks all the boxes tonight -- he's hot, he has the best game script, and he has the best matchup of any point guard. He is a viable play in all formats.
