2017 NBA Mock Draft 2.0: How Should the First Round Play Out?

10. Sacramento Kings (via Pelicans): Justin Jackson, SF

Team needs: Wing production, rebounding, perimeter defense.

If, in this scenario, the Kings snatch up Ball as their point guard at number five, grabbing a wing here makes all the sense in the world.

For starters, the Kings' young, promising power forwards and centers are all wrapped up with team options in the next two-to-three years. Add to that Rudy Gay's decision to opt out and test free agency this summer, and you get a visible hole at the three-spot.

Better yet, the hole was there even this past season. Between Gay's injury and replacement players attempting to fill the void, the Kings were out-produced pretty much across the board. A guy like Justin Jackson, who averaged 18.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists as the ACC Player of the Year a year ago, would shore up another spot for the re-building Kings.
