2017 NBA Mock Draft 2.0: How Should the First Round Play Out?

3. Boston Celtics (via 76ers/Kings): Jonathan Isaac, SF/PF

Team needs: Rebounding, inside scoring, wing efficiency.

With Lonzo Ball and Jayson Tatum still on the board, this pick could go a number of ways. Heck, at the rate Danny Ainge is going, the Celtics might not have this pick by the time they're on the clock.

If the Celtics keep this selection, they need to use it to better their rebounding, first and foremost. This past year, they ranked 27th in defensive rebounding rate (75.3%) and gave up an average of 10.8 offensive boards to their opponents. Maybe it's time to add some good ol' fashioned length and athleticism to the mix, and Florida State's Jonathan Isaac would give them just that.

Standing 6'11" with over a 7' wingspan, Isaac's 25% defensive rebounding rate and 16.5 rebounds per 100 possessions is proof enough that he's willing and able to rebound at a high level. And did I mention he can play the four -- ya know, that place where the Celtics were most overmatched this season.
