3 NBA DraftKings Value Plays to Target on 12/1/17
Tyus Jones, PG/SG, Minnesota Timberwolves
DraftKings Salary: $4,700
If you've played Tyus Jones over the past week, you've probably made quite a bit of money. The young guard has made the most of his opportunity to fill in for Jeff Teague, averaging 36 DraftKings points and 38.5 minutes over his past four games. Despite his strong showing, DraftKings has been slow to price him up, as he requires just 23.5 DraftKings points to reach five-times his salary-implied value.
The only issue with Jones is that Teague continues to carry a "game-time decision" tag into each contest, which has made it a guessing game as to whether or not Jones will draw the start. Rolling the dice on news that comes out after lineup lock is a very risky proposition, albeit one that has worked out in this situation. If we get word that Teague will sit prior to lineup lock, Jones becomes the best value play on the slate. Given how the Minnesota Timberwolves have handled the situation thus far, that seems unlikely, though.
So, either play late-swap tonight and be prepared to make last-second changes, or just set up your "classic" lineups in a way that you can pivot to another guard prior to lock if we still have no news. Luckily, the latter is a lot more feasible tonight, as there are tons of cheap guards stepping into larger roles. Any of Michael Carter-Williams ($4,200), Tomas Satoransky ($3,800), or Alec Burks ($3,600) could be pivot options as value guards.
