5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays for 12/15/17
Marcin Gortat, C, Washington Wizards
FanDuel Price: $4,500
Projected FanDuel Points: 21.4
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.75
In a season full of injuries and issues, the Los Angeles Clippers are 23rd in defensive rating and surrendering, on average, 106.7 points per game this season. If that wasn't bad enough, they're also 22nd in the NBA with a defensive rebounding rate of 76.6%. With or without Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan and company haven't gotten the job done on the boards. Their rebounding has been better in the last two games, but they were held to a 76.3% defensive rebounding rate in their last game against the Washington Wizards and they'd failed to produce anything better than 76.5% in their six games prior to this week.
Enter Marcin Gortat at center. Priced well bellow $5,000, there's still concern over his streak of unproductive games. But that was with Ian Mahinmi in the lineup and getting 20-plus minutes off the bench. Mahinmi's missed two straight games and could be sidelined again Friday.
In the Wizards' last game, Gortat logged more than 29 minutes and produced 12 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks. Backed up by a 9-point, 8-rebound, 4-assist showing against these same Clippers on Saturday, the center is primed to be a top value on Friday's slate.
