Last Thursday, Gerald Green wasn't even in the NBA. He was a 32-year-old free agent looking for work, but then the Houston Rockets came calling.

After signing a non-guaranteed contract and knocking the rust off in his first game, Green has showed out in his last three outings. He has 18, 10 and 27 real-world points in those games.

His 27-point outburst came less than 24 hours ago in the Rockets' blowout win over the Orlando Magic. He was a scorching 9 of 15 from the floor, 7 of 10 from beyond the arc and 2 of 2 from the free throw line. Furthermore, he turned in six rebounds, two assists and a block after having at least two rebounds and two steals in his previous two contests. For a scorer, he's surprised with some nice peripherals.

Green is getting the minutes necessary to produce across the board. He's averaging 25.6 minutes and has played more than 27 minutes in two of his last three games. His usage rate is at 20.6% and, per NBAWowy!, it increases to 21.4% without James Harden. Harden will miss his second straight game tonight and in a matchup with the Golden State Warriors, the Rockets carry an implied total of 110.75 points.

If Green gets the minutes again, he's a no-brainer.
