3 NBA DraftKings Value Plays to Target on 2/1/18
Malcolm Brogdon, PG/SG, Milwaukee Bucks
DraftKings Salary: $5,300
The Milwaukee Bucks will be without Eric Bledsoe for tonight's matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves. That will leave Malcolm Brogdon as the primary point guard in a terrific matchup.
Brogdon has seen a large boost with Bledsoe sidelined this season, elevating his usage rate by 3 percentage points and his DraftKings points per minute by 0.09. That puts him at 0.90 DraftKings points per minute, which means he would need only 29 minutes to reach the 26.5 DraftKings points required of him to hit value -- 5 points per every $1,000 in salary -- at this price.
He was already topping that mark with regularity -- averaging 35 minutes in the five games prior to a short absence due to a calf issue. He was eased back into action his first game back, but with three days of rest between then and now, Brogdon should be expected to push for well over 30 minutes without Bledsoe.
With a bump in usage and a full complement of minutes at his disposal, it would be surprising to see Brogdon struggle to reach value at such a cheap price tag. He draws an advantageous individual matchup against Jeff Teague, and the Wolves have struggled to defend as a whole this season, ranking 24th in defensive efficiency. Brogdon is a fine target in both cash and tournament formats at this salary.
