5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 2/28/18
Marcin Gortat, C, Washington Wizards
FanDuel Price: $4,700
Projected FanDuel Points: 24.2
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.14
In yesterday's version of this piece, we discussed the appeal of Marcin Gortat against the Milwaukee Bucks. While he didn't go off for a big night, he did turn in 23.4 FanDuel points over 26.4 minutes of work. The Wizards took the win and will now play host to the Golden State Warriors Wednesday night.
As the 21st-best team against centers, the Warriors aren't as great of a positional matchup. However, on the contrary, they're 29th in the NBA against pick-and-roll roll men. Their 1.18 points allowed per possession are only marginally better than the Cleveland Cavaliers, and while Gortat is averaging just 0.89 points per pick-and-roll possession, he leads with Wizards with 1.9 such possessions per game.
In his lone game against the defending-champs this year, Gortat averaged 0.98 FanDuel points per minute with 33.8 FanDuel points in 32.6 minutes. Surprisingly, the big man's averaging more FanDuel points per minute (0.96) with Bradley Beal than he is with both Beal and John Wall on the floor (0.89). If the minutes are there in the back-to-back, he's the best option to pay down at center.
