3 NBA DraftKings Value Plays to Target on 3/22/18
Willie Cauley-Stein, PF/C, Sacramento Kings
DraftKings Salary: $5,800
With plenty of top-end and punt-play options available at the center position, Willie Cauley-Stein could end up quite overlooked as a solid mid-range play. WCS carries big-time upside in this spot, especially if Zach Randolph sits.
Cauley-Stein has performed much better at home this season, averaging 30.4 DraftKings points at home, compared to 25.7 on the road. He also has seen his clip DraftKings points per minute climb from 0.99 to 1.06 with Z-Bo off the court. In 10 games that he has played without Z-Bo, Cauley-Stein has averaged 33.9 DraftKings points in 31.8 minutes, which is more than enough to pay off (5 points per every $1,000 in salary) at this price tag.
Those splits make him very appealing if Randolph sits, and the matchup against the Atlanta Hawks is icing on the cake. Atlanta ranks 26th in rebounding rate, has had their shots blocked at the fourth-highest rate, and has allowed the third-most DraftKings points per game to opposing centers. Cauley-Stein should have no problem being productive in this spot, and if Z-Bo sits, he is a very enticing value.
If you're looking for a cheaper source of value from the Sacramento Kings, Frank Mason ($3,800) is that dude. With Garrett Temple out tonight, Mason should push for around 25 minutes of action, which would be more than enough for him to hit the 19 DraftKings points needed of him at his salary. He is averaging 0.89 DraftKings points per minute on the year, and he is a safe punt play in a soft spot against the Hawks.
