10 NBA Players Who Took Huge Leaps This Season
Spencer Dinwiddie, Brooklyn Nets
After two uneventful years in Detroit, Spencer Dinwiddie seems to have found a home in Brooklyn. In his second year with the Brooklyn Nets, the 25-year-old guard set career-highs across the board while playing 80 games as both a starter and reserve.
Spencer Dinwiddie | nERD | PPG | APG | PER |
---|---|---|---|---|
2017 | -0.2 | 7.3 | 3.1 | 12.7 |
2018 | 1.3 | 12.6 | 6.6 | 15.9 |
Fun Fact: Dinwiddie finished with the second-best assist-to-turnover ratio in the league, behind only Darren Collison.
Dinwiddie averaged 14.4 points and 7.3 assists in 34 games without D'Angelo Russell, as opposed to 11.3 points and 6.2 assists with him healthy, so there may not be much room for growth if Russell is still in town next year. He clearly showed that he has the playmaking ability to be a regular contributor this season, though.
