Cleveland Getting Rolled

If you thought that the Cleveland Cavaliers' 29th-ranked defensive efficiency was just a product of coasting during the regular season, you were more disappointed than Tristan Thompson with his brief two-minute appearance in Game 1.

The Indiana Pacers put up a whopping 33 points in the first quarter and coasted to an 18-point road victory over LeBron James and the Cavs. You could pick holes in nearly every aspect of Cleveland's team defense, but possibly the most relevant for this matchup is their inefficiency against the pick-and-roll. Cleveland allowed a league-worst 1.19 points per possession to opposing roll-men in the pick and roll this regular season.

On the opposite end, no team fed their bigs more than Indiana in the pick-and-roll, as they led the league by 176 points in roll-man scoring. Myles Turner finished the season ranked third in points per game as a roll-man, and he had his way with Cleveland in Game 1. He finished with 16 points on 66.7% shooting, and counting that game, he has averaged 33.8 FanDuel points against Cleveland this season.

Both Turner and running mate Victor Oladipo make for excellent options in what is arguably the juiciest matchup for any of the 16 playoff teams.
