Dwight Howard, C, Washington Wizards
DraftKings Price: $5,700
At $5,700, Washington Wizards center Dwight Howard is a little pricier than the usual value plays we list here. Yet, he belongs here nonetheless.
Howard missed the first few games of the season while dealing with back issues. If his early season results are anything to go by, he's not quite over them. His per-36 averages are down across the board from last year, be it points, assists, rebounds, or blocks. He has been a more efficient scorer, however, as his 61.1% field goal clip is up significantly from the 55.5% mark he posted last year.
Tonight, he gets a plus matchup against the Brooklyn Nets, a team who has given up 66.89 DraftKings points per game to center-eligible players, according to FantasyPros. That mark is by far the worst in the league, and Howard should have no trouble accumulating fake points against them.
He's scored at least 35 DraftKings points in six of his past seven meetings against the Nets, including a monster 69.5-point effort in his last game against them. He put up a 30/30 line in that game, one of only two players to do that in the past 10 years (Kevin Love).
We project him for 34.4 DraftKings points tonight. The resulting 6.03 DraftKings points per minute is our sixth-highest projected value on the slate.
