Nicolas Batum, SG/SF, Charlotte Hornets
DraftKings Price: $4,500
The Charlotte Hornets come into tonight's game with just a 27-29 record. Of course, a losing record in the Eastern Conference doesn't rule you out of the postseason, and they hold one of the East's eight playoff spots as we head into the last game before the All-Star Break, which starts tomorrow as Ray Allen and Jay Williams go head-to-head in everybody's favorite All-Star Celebrity Game.
Yeah, that's a long digression to introduce Nicolas Batum, but what can you do? Jesus Shuttlesworth always takes precedence.
Batum had a solid October with 27.6 DraftKings points per game, but his season quickly devolved from there. He averaged just 21.8 DraftKings points in November and a paltry 20.7 in December. The new year has brought with it a resurgence, however, and Batum's numbers bounced back to 25.5 DraftKings points per game in January and 26.3 this month.
He'll look to continue his rebound tonight as the Hornets take on Orlando Magic. Batum scored just 18.3 DraftKings points against the Magic in their most recent meeting, but he has generally performed well against them in a Charlotte uniform, producing at least 30 DraftKings points seven of the 11 times he's faced the Magic. We don't project him to get there tonight, but he doesn't have to do a ton to return solid value at a price of only $4,500. We project Batum for 25.2 DraftKings points -- a value of 5.6 points per $1,000.
