Alex Len, C, Atlanta Hawks
DraftKings Price: $4,000
There are some nights when oft-quiet players bust out and become DFS gods. Atlanta Hawks center Alex Len has been such a player for each of the past two games.
Len, who had a combined four points and two rebounds in three games from February 23 through February 27, has taken advantage of injuries to key Hawks players to take a major step forward. It started on Friday during the Hawks' four-overtime loss to the Chicago Bulls.
With John Collins out with an illness and Omari Spellman hurting his ankle in the third quarter, Len stepped in for 36 minutes and finished with 24 points, 10 boards, and 46.0 DraftKings points. Without Collins and Spellman (who will miss a few weeks) on Sunday, Len started and was close to another double-double, finishing with 28 points, 9 boards, and an even better 48.75 DraftKings points.
Collins is questionable tonight with his illness. If he were to miss his third straight game, Len becomes a must play. With Spellman out, however, Len should see solid minutes regardless, and he has a matchup against a team that he's succeeded against this season. Len has averaged 20.0 DraftKings points in 20.3 minutes across three games against the Miami Heat this season.
Assuming Collins plays, we have Len projected for 18.1 DraftKings points tonight. If he is ultimately ruled out, that number could legitimately double.
