NBA Playoff Race Update: The West is Set

The Pistons and Nets are both starting to look like relative locks to make the postseason, although neither has quite managed to climb up into the "sure thing" tier just yet. It might not be long for the Pistons at this rate, since they have had the second-best record in the entire NBA since January 31st at 15-6.

Meanwhile, the Heat have a tenuous 1.5-game lead on the Magic for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Hornets are still very much in the hunt as well at only 2.5 games back, but the Wizards are becoming a bit of a long shot at 4.5 games back with three teams to leapfrog to get in.
