5 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 2/1/16
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, SG, Detroit Pistons ($5,900)
Let's begin this slide with a caveat: if Tyreke Evans is out once again, Bryce Dejean-Jones deserves consideration at his minimum price. At the moment, there just isn't enough information to say whether Evans will sit or not, so we'll proceed as though he will be active for now.
Last week we looked to exploit the Brooklyn Nets at shooting guard with Wesley Matthews, and unfortunately, it failed miserably -- sorry about that. The Nets' perimeter defense just isn't something to be that scared of though and we'll once again look to attack it with a value option in the form, this time in the form of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
KCP -- as the kids call him (or so I'm told they do at least) -- has been a solid performer who is a lock to log plenty of minutes every night. Over his previous 10 games, he's failed to eclipse 20 FanDuel points only once and has managed to log no fewer than 30 minutes in each contest. In fact, he's failed to log fewer than 30 minutes only twice all season. At his price point, these are luxuries that are difficult to pass up, as such consistency is generally reserved for players up a tier or two in price.
The ceiling isn't elite -- he's gone over 30 real points only once all year -- but if you're paying down at shooting guard, he's a solid option.
