NBA MVP Watch: Stephen Curry Deserved to Win Unanimously
LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers
nERD Score: 15.5
Team Record: 57-25
• Best record in Eastern Conference
• Leader in 2-PT FG Made (650)
• 12th straight All-Star appearance
Before the season began, there was a belief that LeBron James would dial it down just a tad to preserve himself for the playoffs. After all, he was entering his 13th season on a squad studded with a healthy Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving.
But alas, the King did what he's done throughout his career, dancing in the neighborhood of 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists per game. Although James' outside shot suffered noticeably (31%, his worst efficiency since his rookie year), he still managed to shoot 52% overall from the field.
James successfully led the Cleveland Cavaliers to the top seed in the Eastern Conference, and now he's leading them to a stellar playoff run thus far. After completing back-to-back sweeps, James and the Cavs look to have hit their stride and are primed for redemption after last year's Finals loss.
