Jerry West contributed more than just his likeness for the NBA's logo. Famously known for being the only recipient of the Finals MVP award while playing for a losing team, West was regarded as a top-notch defender and one of the premier mid-range shooters of his era. He holds the record for most average points in a playoff series with 46.3 points versus the Baltimore Bullets in 1965.
Though he was nicknamed "Mr. Clutch" for his timely shots as a player, West has also been clutch off the court during his illustrious NBA career as an executive.
