Daily Fantasy Basketball Injury Report: Thursday 2/2/17

Joel Embiid will once again sit out on Thursday, as will a few other important players for tonight's DFS slate.

It's another light night of NBA games and injuries.

However, if you're venturing into tonight's short, four-game slate, these are the injuries you'll have to consider before making your lineups.

Philadelphia 76ers

Joel Embiid is sitting out once again for the Philadelphia 76ers tonight, while Robert Covington is doubtful. This should elevate Jahlil Okafor back into the starting lineup. Timothe Luwawu started in place of Covington last night. However, this is overall a very poor matchup for everyone on the Sixers

Golden State Warriors

Draymond Green has been ruled out for Thursday night with a shoulder contusion, and Shaun Livingston is doubtful due to a back strain, which could open up some value with the Golden State Warriors.

As for Livingston, he is traveling with the team still, so the injury is not considered serious, but without him Golden State would lean on Andre Iguodala and Ian Clark more with Patrick McCaw getting a few more minutes as well.

Given Green's absence, Kevon Looney and James Michael McAdoo should see the biggest lifts, as could JaVale McGee, but McGee hasn't touched 20 minutes all season. The Warriors could also go small, which would help Kevin Durant. My best guess is to give the Warriors' stars a bump and potentially play the other guys in tournaments.

LaMarcus Aldridge, San Antonio Spurs

With the Sixers coming in and playing as 15-point favorites, the San Antonio Spurs have put LaMarcus Aldridge on the injury report with a sore knee. He will not play tonight, so that makes David Lee and Dewayne Dedmon both excellent plays tonight against a Sixers frontcourt without Embiid.

Julius Randle, PF, Los Angeles Lakers

Julius Randle is battling pneumonia, but head coach Luke Walton says he will be active tonight. However, he is in no way a lock to see the court. Ivica Zubac and Larry Nance Jr. are both primed for a bump in value assuming Randle doesn't see any playing time.

Thabo Sefolosha, Atlanta Hawks

Thabo Sefolosha didn't play last night, but he says he is hoping to play tonight. If he does return, Tim Hardaway Jr. will likely head back to the bench, while Kent Bazemore should lose a few minutes too. Consider Sefolosha questionable for now.
