NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Saturday 1/6/18
If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.
With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.
We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.
Let's take a look at who you should target on today's slate.
Best of the Best
LeBron James (FanDuel Price: $11,700) - Despite a couple of stinkers in the last few weeks, James has been one of the league's most consistent fantasy options this season. In 28 of his 38 games played in 2017-18, the King has dropped at least 50 FanDuel points. He has been even better lately, reaching the 50-FanDuel-point mark in 18 of his last 21 (85.7%) games while averaging 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, 9.5 assists, 2.0 steals, and 0.9 blocks in that span. If you need any more reason to build your lineup around James, consider that he is playing in the tastiest matchup of the day as his Cleveland Cavaliers face a bottom-five defense (per both defensive rating and points allowed) in the Orlando Magic. Naturally, the Cavs own the highest implied point total of the day.
