3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 3/14/18

Zach Randolph is in a tough spot against the Miami Heat tonight. Which other NBA players are worth avoiding for Wednesday's DFS contests?

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to, or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it takes only one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference between winning and losing your contests. Which players should we avoid tonight?

Zach Randolph, PF, Sacramento Kings

FanDuel Price: $5,600

Now that the Sacramento Kings' frontcourt is healthier, they don't need to play Zach Randolph huge minutes. He's been getting plenty of looks when he does get playing time, but in a tough matchup against the Miami Heat, Randolph's lack of playing time makes him avoidable in DFS.

The Heat are holding power forwards to just 0.85 FanDuel points per minute, which is the best mark in the league according to our DvP Matchup Chart. Our models currently project the Kings' veteran big man for just 23.7 FanDuel points, which would not be enough to extract value from him.

Markieff Morris, PF, Washington Wizards

FanDuel Price: $5,500

A matchup between Markieff Morris and Marcus Morris is usually one to get excited about in fantasy circles, but tonight, Markieff might be matched up against Jayson Tatum more, which is bad news for the big man's fantasy appeal.

The Boston Celtics are holding opposing power forwards to just 0.88 FanDuel points per minute, and Tatum has been a big reason why Boston is so good defensively. He's holding players he defends to 43.9% shooting overall and 56.7% shooting from inside six feet.

Jonathan Isaac, PF, Orlando Magic

FanDuel Price: $4,500

We close out fade the power forwards day here at numberFire with Jonathan Isaac. Despite the cheap price tag, he's up against a daunting matchup on no rest against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Bucks are also holding power forwards to just 0.85 FanDuel points per minute, and while Isaac has the ability to go for a big game, playing on no rest against Giannis Antetokounmpo might be too much to overcome.
