3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 3/21/18
In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.
You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to, or even fade altogether?
Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it takes only one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference between winning and losing your contests. Which players should we avoid tonight?
Dario Saric, PF, Philadelphia 76ers
FanDuel Price: $6,200
While the Memphis Grizzlies haven't been great defensively this season, there have been a few bright spots. Dario Saric has to go head-to-head with one of those young bright spots in JaMychal Green tonight, and it could hurt Saric's fantasy potential.
Memphis has been solid against power forwards this season, limiting them to 0.92 FanDuel points per minute. Combine that with Green holding players he defends to 43.3% shooting overall, and Saric has a tough road to reaching value on the road Wednesday night.
Andrew Harrison, PG, Memphis Grizzlies
FanDuel Price: $5,800
Andrew Harrison unloaded 19 points and 8 assists in the Grizzlies' loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Monday, but that game was played with Tyreke Evans sitting out as a late scratch. If we get word that Evans is playing Wednesday, Harrison is avoidable in DFS.
With Evans and Marc Gasol off the court, Harrison is averaging over a FanDuel point per minute this season according to NBA Wowy. But Gasol is probable to return tonight, and with him and Evans on the court, Harrison is averaging just 0.73 FanDuel points per minute.
Kelly Oubre, SF, Washington Wizards
FanDuel Price: $5,000
Kelly Oubre has been playing through a foot injury for most of March, but it didn't look as if it was affecting him much until recently. Oubre has played 25 or fewer minutes in his last three games, and in two of those three, he saw fewer than 20 minutes.
If Oubre's minutes are being tapered, he is of little fantasy value in a tough matchup against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday. San Antonio is holding small forwards to just 0.78 FanDuel points per minute, which ranks 5th-best in our DvP Matchup Chart.
