NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Tuesday 3/12/19
If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.
With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.
We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.
Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate.
Best of the Best
Giannis Antetokounmpo ($12,000): Already ranking bottom-10 in the NBA in defensive rating and playing at a top-10 pace on the year, the tanking New Orleans Pelicans have picked it up and have played at the league's highest pace since the All-Star break, making an already terrific fantasy matchup even better. Giannis has been a paragon of consistency, and his only game with fewer than 45 FanDuel points in his last 25 was one in which his minutes were limited as he returned from injury. Of course, for $12,000 you're looking for more than 45 to 50 fantasy points, and Giannis offers no shortage of upside. We saw him explode for 76.8 fantasy points five games ago and 79.3 five games before that. Combining an elite floor, high ceiling and terrific matchup, Antetokounmpo is worth his slate-high salary in all formats.
