The Clippers played the type of game that had everyone calling them contenders at the beginning of the season.
While the Clippers were efficient on the offensive side of the ball, it was the defense that really stood out. They held the Mavs to 40.5% shooting, which is 4% lower than their season average. The Clippers outscored the Mavs in the first quarter 29-18, and it was really never close again. The one concern continues to be the three ball; they only shot 30% for the game.
Tonight’s Game
Tonight the Clippers look to extend their win streak to five against the 7-13 Suns, who will be looking to snap their own five game losing streak. Phoenix is average on the offensive side of the ball and rank 15th. They are even worse on the defensive side of the ball and rank 28th in defensive efficiency. The Clippers need to keep playing the way they played against the Mavs and Kings and establish discipline to be dominant in every game no matter who the opponent is. So look for this game to be over early and plenty of plays for the highlight reel.
