DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Helper: Friday 8/14/20

With four games to choose from on today's NBA slate, let's look at how to utilize the DFS possibilities.

Here are some of the top plays on DraftKings. As always, good luck.

Point Guard

Reggie Jackson ($5,400) -- In two meetings with the Thunder this season, Jackson has averaged 17.5 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 rebounds in 29 minutes. Oddly enough, he played 29 minutes in his last outing recording 10 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds. The Clippers are monitoring minutes, and key players in the rotation are likely to see decreased time on the floor. Jackson is one player that's capable of coming off the bench or starting depending on who's available, so his stock is a little more valuable for this game.

Alec Burks ($5,000) -- Burks has been on fire for the 76ers, scoring 20 or more points in three consecutive games while averaging 6.3 combined rebounds and assists. The 76ers are possibly resting keys players, and Burks has played 23 minutes and 28 twice in his last three performances. He's attempted at least 14 shots in those three games, and he's shot 50% or better in all six bubble games. He's one of the consistent bench players, and he could go for 20 for the fourth-straight game and possibly more versus the Rockets.

Shooting Guard

Furkan Korkmaz ($3,900) -- Korkmaz scored 21 points, had 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in 29 minutes versus the Raptors in his last outing. Korkmaz's minutes have nearly doubled since most of the starting lineup has been resting or hurt the past two games. He's played 29 and 32 minutes the previous two games, the most time Korkmaz spent on the floor in the bubble. He's connected on 8-of-16 (50%) from downtown in the past two games and went 50% from the field (5/10) versus Toronto. The Rockets are allowing the eighth-most fantasy points per game to shooting guards (43.20) and Korkmaz's style of offense fits right into Houston's style and pace.

Justin Holiday ($4,600) -- Holiday had 18 points and 6 rebounds in his last game, and I don't know if it was him or the Rockets' subpar defense, but he had his best bubble performance. Holiday played 35 and 38 minutes in the first two games of the bubble and has posted four-straight of 27 or fewer minutes played. In his last game, he had 29, hoping he could play 30 or more versus Miami.

Miami and Indiana are tied for the fourth-seed, and a win here wouldn't separate them from playing each other or escaping Milwaukee in the second round. Rest could be forthcoming for most of Indiana's starters, and T.J. Warren is out already, so a combo guard like Holiday could find himself surpassing that 30-minute mark. numberFire's model pegs Holiday with 13.3 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.1 rebounds in 32.7 minutes.

Small Forward

Darius Bazley ($5,400) -- Bazley's balling for the Thunder, he's posted three-straight games of 20 or more points and at least 7 rebounds. He recorded his first double-double of the season versus the Suns and needed one more rebound versus the Heat to post consecutive double-doubles. Versus the Clippers, they're still not welcoming Montrezl Harrell back, so Bazley's potential matchup isn't risky.

He's played at least 22 minutes per game in the bubble, and over his last three, he's averaging 29.3 minutes per game. He's likely to see an increase in minutes with the way he's been scoring. He's had three-straight games of eight made shots, and in all three, he's recorded 50% or better from the field, and the same from three-point land. He's quietly playing his way into the rotation and worth one last DFS selection before the postseason begins.

Robert Covington ($7,100) -- Covington's matching up with his former 76ers team right before the postseason is one way to keep the juices flowing. Covington's averaged a near double-double over the last three games with 9.6 points and 9.6 rebounds in 32.6 minutes per game. Covington connected on 3-of-8 (37.5%) from deep in his previous game, and he's had at least two combined rebounds and steals in his last four games. He's an all-around threat on a weird slate and a sneaky double-double option versus Philly.

Power Forward

Jeff Green ($4,900) -- Green's scored double-digits in six of seven games and shot 46% or better in four of the last five games. In those five games, he's averaged 16.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 27.6 minutes. Green's played 30-plus minutes in his last two games, and he's a reliable streaming option as Russell Westbrook sits another game with Eric Gordon ($4,600) returning for his second game. The Rockets have an array of guards now, and the forwards are being undervalued. If Green can get extra minutes in the second half and grab six or more boards, he could be a deep-dive DFS option.

Mike Scott ($4,200) -- Scott's played two-straight games of 22 minutes, and in both, he was far more productive than anyone anticipated. So much, the 76ers have rested him down the stretch to preserve him for the postseason. In a day where most players will be playing two quarters rather than four, he has a lot of upside in the second half when Joel Embiid ($9,900) and Al Horford ($6,800) sit.

Scott has averaged 14.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in those 22 minutes his last two games. The most impressive part of his game is that he's gone 5-of-7 (71.4%) from deep. Versus the Rockets and their small-ball lineup, Scott could light it up from beyond the arc for the 76ers. Houston allows the sixth-most points to power forwards per game (23.10) and the most rebounds (12.47).

Center

Kelly Olynyk ($5,500) -- In his last meeting with the Pacers, Olynyk recorded eight points, seven rebounds, and three assists in 29 minutes, and that was arguably his worst game of the bubble. In the second meeting in a week, Olynyk is liable to get back to his 16.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists he averaged in the bubble's first four games. Bam Adebayo ($7,800) has seen an increased usage with multiple Heat players missing time over the last two weeks, and Olynyk is the perfect candidate to soak up those minutes.
