DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Helper: Wednesday 3/3/21

With 10 games to choose from on Wednesday's slate -- which locks at 7:00 p.m. EST -- let's look at the top options across all five positions for NBA DFS.

Be sure to check out our projections, which are updated throughout the day as news breaks, and our other DFS tools such as advanced stats and a matchup heat map.

Here are some of the top plays on today's DraftKings slate. As always, good luck.

Point Guard

James Harden ($11,000) - Whether you consider it a revenge game or not, Wednesday's matchup with the Houston Rockets will be Harden's first time facing his old team as a member of the Brooklyn Nets. It's not all about that narrative, though. Per NBA.com, the Houston defense ranks 25th in the Association since Christian Wood left the lineup due to injury about one month ago. As for Harden, he's heading into his ninth All-Star appearance averaging a double-double and 61.8 DraftKings points in his last five games. He should be the top priority if you can find the value on this 10-game slate.

Stephen Curry ($9,900) - Harden needs to be in the majority of your lineups, but if you are making multiple iterations one should include Curry as a contrarian option at the point. After all, he's taking on a Portland team that continues to give up 110-plus points on a nightly basis, not to mention the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing point guards, according to FantasyPros' defense-versus-position data. It's also worth noting that Curry's averaged 44 points and 60.4 DK points in the two team's previous head-to-head matchups this season.

Shooting Guard

Kyrie Irving ($9,400) - Not only is Harden producing, but Irving -- primarily operating as the Nets' two-guard these days -- has been putting up numbers of his own in recent games. He's seen his salary grow by $700 in a matter of 10 days, but it's justified when you look through his stat-lines. In the last four games, he's used 28.6% of Brooklyn's offensive possessions to the tune of 25.8 points and 48.0 DK points a game. He's a fantastic pivot from Harden in the same with the same favorable opponent.

Anthony Edwards ($6,900) - The Minnesota Timberwolves continue to do without the suspended Malik Beasley, which has immediately resulted in more valuable looks for the highly touted rookie. Edwards' starting role is unchanged, and for the most part, his minutes aren't much higher. However, in the two games since Beasley's departure, he's averaged 22 shots, 22.5 points, and 36.1 DK points across 33.5 minutes. His usage rate has skied to 29.0% in the most recent three, and he takes that into a game versus Charlotte, who rank 22nd in defensive rating and 26th over their last 10.

Small Forward

Cody Martin ($4,000) - Speaking of the Hornets, they could be sans swingman Gordon Hayward, who is questionable to play after missing the last two games with an injury. Martin has been the guy to get the start while Hayward has been sidelined, having played 27 minutes in each of the previous two. He's no firecracker offensively, nor is he a beast on the boards, but he's still managed over 20 DK points a game on more than 50% shooting. If Hayward is, in fact, ruled out. look for him to have a higher floor against a Wolves team that enters the night ranked 2nd in pace and 26th in defensive rating.

DeAndre Bembry ($3,700) - If you haven't noticed, you probably want to find value at small forward tonight. And even if you aren't sold on Martin, Bembry should have a higher floor both in playing time and potential fantasy production. The Toronto Raptors are going to be thin without all of Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby, and two others (health and safety protocols), particularly at the position Bembry plays on the wing. In all likelihood, he should start in Anunoby's place as he faces the Detroit Pistons in this makeup game of sorts. Averaging 0.73 DK points a minute, you're looking for Bembry to play 26-plus minutes to return value at this salary.

Power Forward

Zion Williamson ($9,100) - Zion's salary has taken off of late, but for good reason. The second-year star has taken his game to a new level over the last 10 games, averaging nearly 30 points and 47.8 DK points during the same number of games, including some softer matchups. However, there's no reason to expect less with the Pelicans playing host to the Bulls. Chicago is 19th in defensive rating, and their top-five pace has led oddsmakers to give this game a 236.5 over/under -- 121 is expected to come from Williamson and the home team tonight. At this salary, he could end the night as the top point-per-dollar producer.

Dorian Finney-Smith ($4,500) - Finney-Smith is typically someone to target when Luka Doncic is a no-brainer top option. But there's no need to ignore him when that isn't the case, given his consistent role and ability to find his way to 25 DK points when the shots are there. Finney-Smith gets his 31-plus minutes a night, but he's also averaged 26.3 DK points in the last four games he has scored at least 10 points, and though he averages south of 9, his Dallas Mavericks should see a boost from Oklahoma City's higher-paced play.

Center

Chris Boucher ($6,400) - There are three enticing options above $10,000, but for my liking the midrange salary tier is ideal for centers here. As we alluded to, Siakam's absence will lead to more chances for others, starting with Boucher, who started the last game and played nearly 28 minutes. He was off from the field, but his 7 points were buoyed by 8 boards, 3 blocks and 2 assists, helping him end the night with 26 DK points. The big man averages well over a fantasy-point-per-minute on the year and has excelled to the tune of 31.7 DK points in the last four games he has played 25 or more minutes. If he draws 30-plus for the shorthanded Raps, look out.

Montrezl Harrell ($5,500) - With Marc Gasol recently placed on the health and safety protocols list, Harrell received the start on Tuesday and should do so again barring any significant changes. The first-year member of the Lakers had not started a game before yesterday, but he has flourished when he's gotten starters minutes. When he's played north of 30 he's averaged 18.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and an average of 33.9 DK points. Harrell's efficient ways should play well beside LeBron James and against Sacramento's league-worst defense.
