NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Thursday 6/10/21
One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.
Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.
Joe Harris, SF, Brooklyn Nets ($5,200)
With a 234.0-point over/under, we should see plenty of scoring in the Brooklyn Nets versus Milwaukee Bucks game tonight.
The Nets hold a 2-0 series lead and if they are going to continue that trend they will need consistent scoring from some of their role players. One player who has been doing that in the postseason is Joe Harris, who is averaging 14.1 points per game, which is the third-highest on the team with James Harden currently out.
The upside for Harris will always come from his three-point ability, which has been on full display in the first two games of this series. He has hit 8 of 16 shots from downtown, a level he is certainly able to maintain going forward. The Bucks allowed their opponents to make 14.8 three-pointers per game this season, which was the worst in the league. The Nets will need his consistent scoring behind Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, which Harris can certainly bring, helping him exceed fantasy value tonight.
Marcus Morris, PF, Los Angeles Clippers ($5,300)
If the Los Angeles Clippers want to tie up their series against the Utah Jazz, they need more scoring help.
In Game 1, the Clippers had just two of their starters -- Kawhi Leonard and Paul George -- scoring in double-digit points, and it simply wasn't enough. The Jazz are an elite three-point shooting team and if they are going to continue to pour in the points, the Clippers will need a role player, such as Marcus Morris, to step up. Morris shot 4 of 14 from the field in Game 1, including 1 of 9 from three-point range. Of course, that is terrible, but he showed the ability to push past that in the first round against the Dallas Mavericks.
In that series, Morris hit three or more three-pointers in three of the seven games, helping him reach his salary-based expectations. The Jazz have seen five of their six games in the playoffs hit the over, giving us a strong indication that there will be plenty of scoring tonight. That scoring trend, combined with a bit of positive regression for Morris after a rough shooting night, should put him in a good spot.
