Daily Fantasy Basketball Injuries and Updates for 2/25/16
In daily fantasy basketball, every edge matters.
One of the easiest ways to find an edge is to understand what happens to a team when injuries occur. Who stands to benefit? Who might struggle as a result? That's all vital information during the lineup-building process.
What should you know about tonight's slate of games? Let's break it down.
As always, you should make sure to double-check our NBA Player News page before finalizing your lineup.
The Definites
Joe Johnson has officially been bought out by the Brooklyn Nets. His departure from Brooklyn will likely increase the minutes for Bojan Bogdanovic,, Markel Brown, and Wayne Ellington. Bogdanovic will likely enter the starting lineup and be the biggest beneficiary. He is $3,500 on both FanDuel and DraftKings. It will become clearer what the Nets are going to do with Johnson's 34 minutes per game with time. His backups are interesting plays for the time being while their prices are still low.
Both Alex Len and Tyson Chandler are playing tonight for the Phoenix Suns. For fantasy owners, this is frustrating news. The Phoenix frontcourt is already extremely crowded. And now with everyone active, they will likely eat into each others' production. When either Chandler or Len sit out, the other is a pretty good daily fantasy value. However, when they both play, like tonight, neither of them are an attractive option.
The To-Be-Determined List
Victor Oladipo is questionable tonight with a thigh bruise. This situation is tricky because, if he does play, how will the Magic handle his minutes? If he does, in fact, sit out Evan Fournier will likely see major minutes. Oladipo averages 32 minutes a game with a Usage Rate of 23%. Fournier is priced in the middle tier and has an opportunity to be a great value if Oladipo is sidelined for the game.
Jerryd Bayless and John Henson are ruled as doubtful for tonight. However, coach Jason Kidd stated that they won't be back anytime soon. That leads us to believe they won't play tonight, but there isn't an official ruling yet. With them out of the lineup, Michael Carter-Williams will have the best chance to shine here. His minutes have fluctuated throughout the season, but this should help give him more consistent minutes.
