4 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 4/13/16
One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you'll need to find one of these lower-priced options to squeeze everyone into your lineup.
Let's take a look at four guys who can help fill the gaps in your lineup tonight. Of course, remember to check our projections closer to tip because so much can change in the NBA throughout the day.
Seth Curry, PG, Sacramento Kings
FanDuel Price: $6,100
Seth Curry has been playing well lately but had his coming out party last game with 50 fantasy points. Tonight's matchup is against a very fast Rockets team, which has led to the highest game total of the night (222.5).
Curry's price has skyrocketed on FanDuel, but he can still perform well on that salary if given the minutes. He is more appealing on DraftKings where his cost is still at $5,000.
To ease any worries about minutes, both Rajon Rondo and Darren Collison have already been ruled out for the contes, so Curry could see close to the 38 minutes that he played last time.
Ramon Sessions, PG, Washington Wizards
FanDuel Price: $6,400
Just like Curry from above, Ramon Sessions' price tag increased dramatically on FanDuel because he has been extremely good with John Wall out of the lineup. DraftKings has him priced at just $5,200. Wall hasn't technically been ruled out yet, but he hasn't played in four straight games, and tonight's contest means absolutely nothing for the Wizards.
In case you need any convincing, Sessions is averaging over 36.5 fantasy points over the last four games. His opportunity and recent success make him a solid option on these prices.
Marcus Thornton, SG, Washington Wizards
FanDuel Price: $4,000
Marcus Thornton has been given a great opportunity with both Wall and Bradley Beal out of the lineup. He wasn't receiving enough playing time to be relevant, but he played 31 minutes in the last two games and churned out a 28 fantasy point performance and a 34 fantasy point performance.
After a slight price bump, he is still very valuable because the playing time and usage will be there tonight. In the last two games, he is averaging a value of 8.8 (points per $1,000 in salary).
Ersan Ilyasova, PF, Orlando Magic
FanDuel Price: $3,900
Ersan Ilyasova is coming in at near-minimum prices tonight after a 39 fantasy point outing. Both Nikola Vucevic and Aaron Gordon stayed in street clothes last game, which allowed Ilyasova to play 37 minutes and score 10 times his cost.
Both Vucevic and Gordon will most likely miss the season finale, and Ilyasova should play 30-plus minutes again. The matchup isn't ideal -- the Hornets are a defensive team and they have something to play for -- but the price is too low for the opportunity that he has.
As always, make sure to watch for updates as the games get closer. This time of year, there are a lot of late scratches, as players are resting for the playoffs, which can drastically change the landscape of the value plays.
