Anthony Davis (finger) reportedly could be shut down by Pelicans
New Orleans Pelicans forward/center Anthony Davis (finger) may be shut down for the rest of the season if he's not traded at the deadline, reports Marc Stein of the New York Times.
The Pelicans can't make a deal with the Boston Celtics until this summer, and as they currently sit five games out of the eight seed in the West, it makes sense to prioritize Davis' health over the pursuit of an unlikely playoff bid. The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly Davis' preferred destination, but according to an ESPN report, Pelicans general manager Dell Demps has not returned any calls from Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka. The NBA's trade deadline is next Thursday.
Davis is averaging 61.2 FanDuel points in 41 games this season, with 29.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.7 steals, 2.6 blocks, and 1.0 triples per contest.
