Mavericks' Dennis Smith Jr. traded to New York
Dallas Mavericks guard Dennis Smith Jr. has been traded to the New York Knicks on Thursday in a blockbuster deal.
As the Knicks look to clear up cap space for this summer's free agent class, they have shipped Kristaps Porzingis, Courtney Lee and Tim Hardaway Jr. in exchange for Smith Jr. and the expiring contracts of DeAndre Jordan and Wesley Matthews. Dallas may also be sending a draft pick to New York.
In 32 games this season, Smith Jr. has averaged 12.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 24.7 FanDuel points per game.
