Jonas Valanciunas reportedly traded to Grizzlies
The Toronto Raptors will send center Jonas Valanciunas, point guard Delon Wright, guard/forward C.J. Miles, and a 2024 second-round pick to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for center Marc Gasol, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
What It Means:
The deal improves Valanciunas' outlook moving forward, as he will no longer be competing with Serge Ibaka for minutes at the five. He hasn't played since December 12 due to a thumb injury, but was set to return from a thumb injury on Thursday.
JV averaged 25.1 FanDuel points through 30 games (10 starts) for the Raptors this season, with 12.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks per contest.
