Anthony Davis aggravates Achilles in Lakers loss, suggests lengthy absence
Los Angeles Lakers forward/center Anthony Davis aggravated his right Achilles strain during Sunday night's loss to the Denver Nuggets.
Davis missed two games last week due to the injury. He acknowledged that Sunday's aggravation was a "setback" and indicated he's looking at a lengthier absence this time. “It’s a part of the game, it’s more so frustrating that I’m not able to go out there and play,” Davis said after the game. “I don’t want to mess around with this type of injury.” Kyle Kuzma will likely replace Davis in the starting lineup while there should be more minutes for Montrezl Harrell and Marc Gasol. Markieff Morris could also return to the Lakers' rotation.
Kuzma is averaging 28.0 FanDuel points with 14.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 2.2 3-pointers per game when Davis doesn't play this season. LeBron James is leading the Lakers with a 33.2 percent usage rate when Davis isn't on the floor.
