Ja Morant (hand) trending toward missing Game 2 for Grizzlies
Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant (hand) is trending toward not playing in Game 2 on Wednesday versus the Los Angeles Lakers, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Wojnarowski says there is "significant doubt" Morant will be able to play due to a right hand injury he aggravated in Game 1 on Sunday. X-rays came back clean, but after the game, Morant reportedly described the pain "as a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10" and said he couldn't grab anything. Tyus Jones is in line for a start on Wednesday in Memphis.
Jones recorded a 19.5% usage rate and averaged 37.5 FanDuel points over 22 starts in the regular season, with 16.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 8.1 assists, 1.8 steals, and 2.0 3-pointers in 33.1 minutes per game.
