Pelicans' Jose Alvarado (ankle) out first 2 weeks
New Orleans Pelicans point guard Jose Alvarado (ankle) will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Alvarado injured his ankle in the offseason and then suffered a setback while rehabbing. Dyson Daniels, Kira Lewis, and Trey Murphy will have more minutes available to begin the season with Alvarado inactive.
numberFire's models project Alvarado to average 8.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.9 steals, and 1.5 3-pointers in 19.4 minutes over the course of the season. He improved in nearly every category in his second NBA season last year, with 9.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.4 3-pointers in 21.5 minutes per game.
