Nikola Jokic volunteers to come off Nuggets' bench on Friday
Denver Nuggets forward/center Nikola Jokic finished with just six points and three rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench on Saturday, after he requested to be removed from the starting lineup.
Jokic has been going through a bad sophomore slump, but the Denver frontcourt situation seems to be the biggest issue for the big man. The starting duo of him and Jusuf Nurkic has not worked well and Denver is going to have to figure out their frontcourt rotation if they want to make a run at the playoffs this season.
Despite his rough start, Jokic isn't that far from his averages during his rookie season, posting 9.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 22.7 minutes per game in 2016-17. However, his true shooting percentage of .531 through nine games is down over 50 points early in the season.
