Kristaps Porzingis not expected to play Thursday for Knicks
New York Knicks forward/center Kristaps Porzingis (thigh) is expected to miss Thursday's game against the Brooklyn Nets, said head coach Jeff Hornacek.
"We’ll see whenever he’s ready to play," Hornacek said, indicating the absence could stretch beyond Thursday's contest. Willy Hernangomez becomes a must-add player while Kyle O'Quinn and Lance Thomas will also see more opportunity. Expect the Knicks to play things very conservatively with Porzingis for the remainder of the season.
In the last three games where he played 25-plus minutes, Hernangomez is averaging 13.3 points, 12.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.0 steals per game, but that's also come with 4.7 turnovers a night. His 0.7 nERD is second on the Knicks.
