Lakers forced to shut down Ivica Zubac early due to ankle sprain
Los Angeles Lakers center Ivica Zubac suffered a high right ankle sprain, an MRI confirmed, and he will be out for the remainder of the season.
X-rays were negative for a fracture on Thursday and he'll be re-evaluated in two weeks, but this shouldn't hold Zubac out of any sort of offseason work. Larry Nance will benefit the most and is worth an add in standard formats. Tarik Black and Thomas Robinson also project to see more minutes.
Zubac finishes his rookie campaign averaging 7.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game. In 11 starts, he averaged 10.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.7 blocks per contest. His -0.4 nERD is outside of the NBA's top-250 players.
