1. Michael Beasley, Kansas State Wildcats (2007-08)

Michael Beasley rounds out the trio of players who would've made for more deserving Player of the Year winners in the 2008 season.

As the leader of the Kansas State Wildcats, the star freshman put up 26.2 points, 12.4 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.3 steals in 31.5 minutes per game. He posted a true shooting percentage of 61% with 1.1 three-point makes a night.

Beasley counted up 10.7 win shares throughout the season, but he was better than Love per 40 minutes, with an average of .411 in that amount of time. Accordingly, he was named Big 12 Player of the Year.

In Big 12 play, the Wildcats were 10-6 and worked their way to a 21-12 overall record. They got past the first round of the Big Dance, but Beasley was lacking the supporting cast necessary to overtake Wisconsin in the Round of 32. That doesn't diminish the greatness of his exceptional individual season, though.
