Frank Mason III, Kansas Jayhawks

Sure, Josh Jackson is an NBA lottery pick and the most talented player on head coach Bill Self's roster, but the best college basketball player on his team is Frank Mason III. He's led the team with .222 win shares per 40 minutes and is a finalist for the Wooden Award. Oh, and he already has eight Tournament games and five wins under his belt.

Mason is as experienced and consistent as they come. The 5'11" point man has averaged 20.8 points, 5.1 assists and 4.1 rebounds in 36.2 minutes on the season, while converting 48.7% of his 13.5 field goal attempts and shooting the same percentage from three.

Even with a usage of 25.4%, Mason has earned a PER of 24.9 by turning the ball over just 2.5 times per outing. He's Kansas' unquestioned leader, and they'll go just as far as he'll take them. They await their first-round opponent, who will come from Wednesday night's play-in game between North Carolina Central and UC-Davis.
