College Football Daily Fantasy Helper: Saturday 9/21/19 Late Slate

Week Four of College Football is here! FanDuel's Saturday night College Football DFS Late slate includes 12 games.

In case you're unfamiliar with how it works, you can check out the rules and scoring on FanDuel, where you can hit the lobby each week to see the full array of slates and contests being offered.

As for the basics, your roster consists of a quarterback slot, two running back slots, three wide receiver slots (which also includes tight ends) and one super flex slot. In the flex, you can insert one player from any position, including quarterbacks.

Here, our goal is to help you field a roster full of fantasy goodness, and in true numberFire fashion, we'll use our in-house projections as well as betting totals and advanced statistics to tackle as many slates as possible in the lead-up to the College Football Playoff. This week, we are only breaking down Saturday's Late slate, which locks at 7:00 p.m. EST.

Let's breakdown which players are in great spots as well as identify some players with cheap price tags that will allow you to roster the high dollar players.

Quarterbacks

Sam Ehlinger, Texas ($10,600) – The dual-threat quarterback has accounted for 12 of the Texas Longhorns’ 16 offensive touchdowns this season (75%). Through three games, Ehlinger is averaging 318.7 pass yards, 40.1 rush yards, and four total touchdowns per game. With our models projecting Texas to score around 37 points, (or slightly more than five touchdowns), we can project the junior signal caller to account for nearly four touchdowns based on his production this year.

Adrian Martinez, Nebraska ($9,400) – Martinez has accounted for seven touchdowns in the Nebraska Cornhuskers’ last two games after starting the year off slowly against South Alabama Jaguars (did not account for any touchdowns in that one). With an implied total approaching 38, Martinez is in a great spot this week against Illinois Fighting Illini. In last year’s meeting with the Illini, the dual-threat signal caller threw for 290 yards, ran for 55 yards, and accounted for 4 total touchdowns in Nebraska’s dominating 54-35 win.

Mitchell Guadagni, Toledo ($8,000) – Guadagni will look to exploit Colorado State Rams' porous pass defense, which has allowed an average of 325 passing yards per game this season. The dual-threat quarterback returned to action last week (suffered a concussion in the season opener) and threw for 266 yards and three touchdowns in the Rockets' 45-0 win over Murray State. Guadagni is a big reason why the media picked Toledo Rockets to win the MAC Conference Championship this season.

Running Backs

Travis Etienne, Clemson ($10,100) – The Clemson Tigers' star running back led the country with 24 rushing touchdowns in 2018. Through three games this season, Etienne is averaging 14 carries for 111.3 rush yards and 1 score per game. With Clemson's implied total slightly north of 50, Etienne can have his way with Charlotte's porous rush defense. Charlotte is allowing 190.0 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns per game in 2019.

D’Andre Swift, Georgia ($9,200) – On paper, this week’s matchup with seventh-ranked Notre Dame appears difficult. However, Swift produced some of his biggest games against top-10 opponents in 2018. In three games against top-10 foes, Swift ran 335 yards and scored five touchdowns. The projected early-round draft pick (in the 2020 NFL Draft) will look to take advantage of a Notre Dame defense that allowed 249 yards and two touchdowns to the Louisville Cardinals backfield in Week 1 of the college football season.

Bryant Koback, Toledo ($8,900) – Koback led the Rockets with 917 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns a season ago. The running back has scored at least one touchdown in seven of Toledo’s last eight games, dating back to the 2018 season. This is a prime spot for Koback and the Rockets’ backfield. Colorado State has been decimated on the ground as they’ve surrendered 387 yards rushing and seven touchdowns combined to the backfields of the Colorado Buffaloes and Arkansas Razorbacks.

Others to consider: John Lovett, Chuba Hubbard, Max Borghi, Keaontay Ingram, Eno Benjamin, Maurice Washington, Reggie Corbin, Wayne Taulapapa, CJ Verdell, Lyn-J Dixon, Marvin Kinsey

Wide Receivers

Tylan Wallace, Oklahoma State ($9,700) – Wallace leads the country with 130.0 receiving yards per game. He’s tied for first in the country with six touchdown receptions. The junior receiver has at least one touchdown reception in eight of the Oklahoma State Cowboys’ last nine games, dating back to 2018. He’s also caught at least five passes in 10 of their last 11 games, dating back to 2018. Needless to say, he’s a great play in the Cowboys’ projected shootout with Texas this week.

Wandale Robinson, Nebraska ($5,900) – The diminutive speedster is still looking for his first career collegiate touchdown. Robinson is utilized as both a runner and pass catcher in Nebraska’s fast-paced offense. Robinson has 8 carries for 30 yards and 9 receptions for 116 yards on 16 targets in three games this season. The talented freshman is cheap this week.

Danzel McKinley-Lewis, Toledo ($5,900) – Coming in to the 2019 season, expectations were high for McKinley-Lewis to emerge as one of Toledo’s top wide receivers. The junior wide receiver leads the Rockets in receiving with six receptions for 143 yards and one touchdown on 12 targets through two games this season. A Week 3 matchup with Colorado State’s 78th-ranked pass defense (in yards allowed) should provide McKinley-Lewis with plenty of opportunities to make plays.
