Week 2 FanDuel NFL Tournament Pivots
Running Back
Chalk:
C.J. Anderson, $7,800 vs Indianapolis Colts - C.J. Anderson is coming off of a monster game against the Carolina Panthers and now gets a matchup against an Indianapolis Colts defense that was just torn up by Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick (228 total yards and 3 scores on 29 touches). Anderson should pace the field at running back in terms of ownership.
Pivots:
Ryan Mathews, $6,300 at Chicago Bears - There are three interesting pivots to Anderson that come at a nice discount, the first of which is Ryan Mathews against the Chicago Bears. Mathews was a workhorse in Week 1, totaling 77 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries, and coach Doug Pederson said he plans to continue to feed him the ball. Mathews also dominated the red zone looks, accounting for eight of the nine looks that went to Philadelphia backs and receivers in Week 1. In Week 2, Mathews will take on a Chicago defense that ranked as the third-worst defense against the run last year according to our metrics and allowed Lamar Miller to rush for 106 yards last week.
Rashad Jennings, $6,300 vs New Orleans Saints - In his last five games dating back to last season, Rashad Jennings has averaged 19.4 carries, 120 total yards, and has scored 2 touchdowns. He should continue to dominate the workload for New York this week in a matchup against a New Orleans Saints defense that allowed the Oakland Raiders running backs to combine for 200 total yards and 2 touchdowns against them in last week's shootout. Most daily fantasy players will be on the New York Giants passing attack this week, but game script sets up very well for a big game from Jennings. He is an interesting pivot off of the more highly-owned running backs, as well as a leverage play off of Eli Manning.
LeGarrette Blount, $6,000 vs Miami Dolphins - LeGarrette Blount is inconsistent enough that he is rarely ever highly owned. With all of the appealing running backs on this slate, that should be the case once again. In a matchup against the Miami Dolphins in which the New England Patriots could end up grabbing an early lead, Blount is an excellent high-upside tournament pivot. In nine games since the beginning of last season in which the Pats have been at least 6.5-point favorites, as they are this week, Blount has averaged 16 carries, 69 rushing yards, and 0.7 touchdowns. In all other games, he has averaged 10.8 carries, 39 rushing yards, and .25 touchdowns.
