Week 2 FanDuel NFL Tournament Pivots
Tight End
Chalk:
Delanie Walker, $6,600 at Detroit Lions - Tight end isn't as chalky of a position on FanDuel as it is on DraftKings, but the way things are sorting out, it appears Delanie Walker and Antonio Gates will end up being the most highly-owned options.
Pivots:
Julius Thomas, $6,400 at San Diego Chargers - Julius Thomas is coming off of a great performance and finds himself in a great matchup this week. However, his ownership should stay low due to his price spike and the potential that teammate T.J. Yeldon ends up being one of the most highly-owned running backs on the slate. If Chris Ivory sits, Yeldon becomes one of the few value play running backs on a slate where everyone is trying to fit in the studs.
A less talked about effect of presumed short-yardage back Ivory sitting would be that Thomas would likely be heavily featured in the red zone once again this week. Also, with the Jacksonville Jaguars receivers tied up with the San Diego Chargers corners, which is the strength of their defense, Thomas could find himself open with more frequency over the middle, like the Kansas City Chiefs tight ends last week (8 catches for 94 yards).
Gary Barnidge, $6,000 vs. Baltimore Ravens - Gary Barnidge is coming off of a zero-point performance in Week 1, but with Josh McCown back under center, he has a completely different outlook going forward. Since the beginning of last season, Barnidge has been twice as good production-wise with McCown under center -- with McCown, he was force-fed to the tune of 15.4 FanDuel points per game, as opposed to 8.3 without him. This week, he takes on a Baltimore defense that allowed him to pile up 230 yards and 1 touchdown on 15 catches last season. Let others give in to recency bias following last week's disaster. Take the chance to roster Barnidge at low price and ownership while you still can.
