3 Daily Fantasy Football Players to Avoid in Week 3
Melvin Gordon ($7,100 on FanDuel)
With Danny Woodhead lost for the season, Melvin Gordon is officially the man for the San Diego Chargers.
Gordon has performed much better than what he did last season. Through the first two games of 2016, he's scored 3 touchdowns and averaged 18.6 FanDuel points per game.
Gordon's 4.34 Rushing NEP is the third-highest total in the league among running backs with at least 20 rushes this year. His 0.114 Rushing NEP per carry is also third among that group of backs. Only Latavius Murray and Ryan Mathews have been more efficient on a per carry basis this season.
This week, he gets a dream matchup against the brutal Indianapolis Colts' defense. Indy hasn't been able to stop a runner since George Bush was in office. The Colts have allowed the fourth-most rushing yards (236), second-most rushing touchdowns (3), and the most FanDuel points per game to running backs (38.3).
So why in the world would you want to avoid this dream scenario?
Ownership, baby.
Juicy matchups in perceived perfect spots like this are hard to pass up. And the majority of people playing big tournaments probably won't pass on Gordon. That makes him a candidate to fade in tourneys. You could possibly lap close to 30% of the field with just one poor game.
